About Bascom Maple Farms

Our Company

Bascom Maple Farms is one of the largest producers of pure maple syrup in New England. We are a major supplier of maple products to packers, distributors, manufactures, retailers, and others in the food business.

The Bascom farm is located on 2,200 acres high in the hills of New Hampshire near the Connecticut River. The Bascom family has been producing maple syrup since 1853. Over seven generations the farm has grown to include large maple groves, a major dairy, and other agricultural operations. We have operated commercial syrup production and packing facilities for over 40 years.

Our People

The principals of the business are Bruce and Elizabeth Bascom. Other family members are active in the business. Bruce Bascom's entire career has been devoted to the maple industry. Bascom family members are experienced in all aspects of sap harvesting, syrup production, packaging, and distribution. Bruce Bascom is active in a number of local and national maple product organizations, and in 2010 was inducted into the Maple Hall of Fame.

Commitment to the Customer

Our Yankee tradition of workmanship and pride in what we do commit us to providing our customers the best quality maple products possible at competitive prices.

We are nationally recognized for our knowledge of the maple business and participate actively in the major maple trade associations. We are constantly in touch with the latest national and international conditions in the maple market.

Because of our involvement in the maple syrup equipment business, we are aware of the latest technical advances for harvesting sap, producing syrup, packaging and distribution. Our company conducted pioneering work in the use of plastic tubing for maple sap production. In addition to our own maple orchards we rent groves at other nearby New Hampshire locations. At our modern processing and packing facilities we are prepared to fill orders quickly and can ship all over the United States.

Uses of Maple Syrup

Maple syrup is a natural sweetener traditionally used on pancakes, waffles, cereals, ice cream, and for glazes and special dishes such as maple-cured hams. It is also used for baking, to sweeten drinks like coffee and tea, and in preparing food dishes like baked beans. It is a natural food product with a history reaching back over the centuries. Our syrup is sodium-and cholesterol-free, produced without chemicals, and contains no additives or preservatives.

Quality

Because we tap trees in forests we own or manage, we can oversee the conditions of the woods and guarantee the quality of our product. All syrup is produced, packaged, and graded under the Bascom's personal supervision in accordance with US government regulations. Our processing methods are scrupulously tended to. They include modern production and packing facilities that employ up-to-date, proven technology.
